The weekend draw brought Alyson Parker back for some more action. She fell short of the money in Event 4 but aiming again for her second Borgata title to go with her 2013 Borgata Poker Open Ladies Event trophy.

We’re also seeing more Borgata regulars making their first Deep Stacks Challenge appearance. Renata Colache is among them looking for her first Borgata title despite several close calls. She’s booked seats at a dozen Borgata final tables, including two DSC appearances, and putting up some big numbers. Colache has more than $142,000 in career earnings with her latest big score coming this summer with an 11th place finish in the $2,500+$200 Borgata Summer Poker Open Championship.

There are a few personalities in the game that you know they’re playing from a distance. Not surprising, a lot of them call the Borgata home like Matt Stout and Will “The Thrill” Failla. You hear them before you see them. You can throw Yee Mau Cheung in with that group because he’s never not enjoying his time at the tables.

His latest loud moment came soon after the first break of the day when he put his stack in the middle and stood up.

“You know what I have,” Cheung’s opponent laughed with him.

Cheung pushed his Ac Kh into Ah Ad and didn’t sniff a bad beat as the dealer spread the Tc 6d 2s 6c Js board.

“Rebuy!” Cheung laughed/yelled.

He’ll have to wait if he wants to hit the re-entry desk since he still has a few chips to sling around.

The Event 5 count jumped over 100 by the end of the first level and we’re seeing more players get in the game as we approach the Friday afternoon hours. The $30,000 Guarantee should be hit before the end of Level 2 and they’ll start pushing it higher at that point.

Paul Colwell is one of our (tired) early players in the game and commiserated with some late nighters. He was part of the Event 4 final table that played into the early hours this morning and he left that game earlier than he anticipated. Colwell was sitting comfortably until his aces were cracked by eventual winner Michael Stein to send him out in fifth place.
